A person is behind bars and another taken to the hospital following a shooting in pontotoc county tuesday night.

The sheriff ,leo mask , tells us that the arrest was made today (wednesday) but as of yet has not released a name.

Mask says the shooting took place on salmon road in the county and adds that the south pontotoc county school was placed on lockdown for a while due to its proximity to the shooting.

Sheriff mask says the shooting was the result of a domestic dispute of some kind and the victim was taken to the north mississippi medical center for treatment.

We don't know the victim's condition .
