College officials booked for ‘cheating’

Ghaziabad: An FIR has been registered against management officials of a private law college at Muradnagar for allegedly cheating an undergraduate student and issuing her a fake hall ticket.
Santosh Kumar Varun, who is from Sihani Gate, said he admitted his daughter Pooja in the first year BA LLB course in 2018 by paying Rs 25,000. She was issued a hall ticket for the exams. Although she was allowed to write her English paper on December 5, 2018, on December 8, she was not allowed to take her test and was told her hall ticket was fake.

Pooja checked the website of Chaudhary Charan Singh University — her college is affiliated to it — and found that her roll number did not exist.
“Many others have been cheated. The chairman, head of department and three others threatened students of dire consequence if they complained,” Varun said in his complaint. He approached a court in January and it asked for an FIR to be registered. A college official said he could not comment as yet.
