VIJAYAWADA: Chief minister and TDP president N
Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday exuded confidence that TDP will win the assembly .
“I am 1,000 per cent sure of TDP victory,” Naidu told party leaders in a teleconference. He said he had put all his 40 years of political experience to analyse various poll surveys to arrive at the conclusion that the TDP will return to power. He said it was only a matter of victory margin. Naidu said TDP will pocket most of the Lok Sabha seats in AP as well.
Naidu asked party leaders to ensure that there is no foul play in counting of votes polled in electronic voting machines (EVMs). Naidu has been opposing the use of EVMs alleging that the electronic devices can be tampered with. He also demanded counting of at least 50% of VVPAT slips to ensure that there is no alleged foul play.
TDP booth committee conveners, contesting candidates and seva mitras participated in the teleconference. The TDP chief told them that there should be no second thoughts about the absolute victory of TDP in the hustings. “We will retain power,” Naidu said accusing YSRCP of hatching a conspiracy to win over TDP legislators after the polls. “We will expose it soon,” Naidu added.
Stating that contesting candidates and their counting agents should prepare themselves before the counting, the CM suggested that only those with experience should be nominated by the party. He asked party leaders to form teams with advocates and IT experts. “There should be training for such teams to prevent malpractice in the counting,” Naidu pointed out.
