It's the national day of prayer... and those in la crosse celebrated at the 23-rd annual mayoral prayer breakfast'.
With what started years ago as a shared breakfast between one newly elected mayor and 4 preachers... has grown into nearly 300 people enjoying food and praying for those in the community.
Local pastor, mark clements, says there's no better time than now to gather as a community in a time of such political unrest.
"we look at all of it and we look at ourselves, and we see, in our feeble strength, the inability to deal with those issues.
So we look to our higher power, we look to god, and ask for his help."
This year the celebration had a rare opportunity to hear from a special guest speaker, al lindner.
