A B.Tech drop-out allegedly killed his wife and two-year-old son at their rented house in Auto Nagar of Vanasthalipuram on the intervening night of Monday and dumped the bodies in an empty water drum.

Mohammed Abid Alam (24), who hails from Patna, is currently absconding and teams are formed to nab him, said Vanasthalipuram inspector A.Venkataiah.

The offence came to light only on Tuesday, when the house owner found the bodies after breaking open the door and entering the rented portion when a foul smell was coming from there.

The bodies of Kavitha alias Shabana and her son Mohammed Irfan were concealed in the drum covered with a pile of clothes, the inspector said.

“We suspect he smothered or throttled them to death. There were no external injuries,” he said.

Abid came to Hyderabad five years ago for pursuing engineering at St. Mary’s College of Engineering and Technology and developed friendship with Kavitha, which resulted in marriage.

“The couple married in 2016 and were leading a happy life. A few months ago, Abid’s family learnt about his marriage and took him back to Bihar. However, he returned to Hyderabad and was working as a daily-wager,” Venkataiah said.

One of the victim’s family members told the police that Abid’s family was against their inter-faith marriage, and might also be responsible for the murder. “The exact reason for the murder will be known only after arresting the accused,” he said. A team was also sent to Bihar to trace him.

Doc held for molestation

A 65-year-old homoeopathy doctor was arrested by Chilkalguda police for allegedly misbehaving with a patient at his Malargadda clinic.

Koshka Chandra Mohan of Sri Homeopathy Medical Store and Clinic and a resident of Padmarao Nagar touched her private parts when she visited his clinic on April 30.

“He took her inside the check-up room and when there was no one around, touched her private parts. The victim managed to escape and approached the police,” police said.
