Steel support falls at flyover site, none hurt

Vadodara: Commuters on the Old Padra Road had a narrow escape when a steel support erected for construction of the flyover opposite the Vaccine Institute ground collapsed while it was being removed late on Thursday evening.
The incident took place when a crane was working at the site. The steel support crashed on the steel sheet partitions erected on the road. The partition also collapsed subsequently.
The incident led to a panic amid commuters, while a couple of two-wheeler riders had a narrow escape. The support as well as the partition was removed from the site immediately by the workers present at the time. Traffic movement on the stretch was affected for a small while, while officials of the Vadodara Municipal Corporation were caught unawares when asked about the incident.
