This is the dramatic moment a police officer pulled a drunk driver out of his car moments before the vehicle burst into flames.
The 39-year-old P-plater driving a white Holden Commodore was allegedly driving recklessly along Hindley Street in Adelaide's CBD on Wednesday at about 10pm.
Footage shows the driver crashing into the wall of motel in a narrow lane, after doing a three-point turn.
Police say the Willaston man was four times over the legal limit.

A passenger was captured on camera fleeing the car but the driver stays put as smoke erupts from the bonnet.
Alarmed witnesses watched from a distance, with one pleading for the drunk man to get out of the car.
'Get out of the f***ing car!' one man was heard saying as the police officer ran towards the Commodore.

A nearby restaurant was forced to evacuate over fears of the explosion.
'It's a pretty silly thing to do like a lot of people of people use this way to get to other places,' witness Adrian Whyte told 7News.
