Programme to include online offers

Mumbai Metro One Private Limited (MMOPL) will extend its rewards programme, Metro Rewards, to include online offers. The company, which operates Mumbai Metro One, will unveil Phase 2 of the programme on Wednesday to mark Maharashtra Day.

The company said over 17,000 commuters had registered with the rewards programme since December 28, when it was unveiled. Under Metro Rewards, a commuter can earn a point after travelling for 10 km. In Phase 2, they will also introduce a referral programme wherein a commuter can earn 10 points by referring the Metro Rewards programme to a friend or a family member. The family member will also get 10 points if they come through the referral route.

When the rewards programme was unveiled, commuters had the option of redeeming 10 points against an accident insurance policy worth ₹4.5 lakh, which the company will extend.

Metro Rewards enables commuters to check the distance travelled and accumulated reward points for redeeming offers. Commuters also get offline discount offers at retail establishments. The company will also introduce travel and entertainment offers that can be redeemed online.

An MMOPL spokesperson said, “We want more commuters to take advantage of the offers under the loyalty programme by registering and redeeming points.”
