The Returning Officer of Sulur Assembly constituency S. Balakrishnan on Tuesday accepted 22 of the 61 nominations that were filed for the May 19 byelection.
Mr. Balakrishnan said those whose nominations were accepted included the AIADMK nominee V.P. Kandasamy, DMK nominee N. Palanisamy, Makkal Needhi Maiam nominee G. Mayilswamy, Naam Tamilar Katchi nominee M.V. Vijayaraghavan, Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam nominee P. Sugumar, contesting as an independent, Tamil Nadu Ilangyar Katchi nominee K. Palanisamy, Uzhaipali Makkal Katchi nominee Sanmugam and 15 independents.
Rejected
He had also rejected the nomination of the lone woman nominee J. Shanmuga Priyadarshini.
