The Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) has made arrangements for Group-2 preliminary examination scheduled to be held on May 5.
Commission Chairman Udaya Bhaskar, at a press conference here on Tuesday, said 2.9 lakh candidates would write the examinations at 727 centres set up across the 13 districts in the State to fill 447 posts.
Those who clear the preliminary would qualify to appear for the main examination to be conducted in the online mode.
He said the candidates should reach the centres in advance and bring their hall-ticket and ID card with them. They should not damage the OMR sheets given to them. If they receive a damaged sheet, it should be exchanged.
Negative marking
Speaking about the dos and don’ts, he said cell phones or calculators would not be allowed inside the examination hall. In view of negative marking, candidates should carefully exercise their options.
He said the Group-1, 2 and 3 examinations were being conducted in both Telugu and English media.
He said helpline numbers given to assist the candidates should be utilised in the event of any doubt or problem.
Of the 727 centres, 55 are in Krishna district (Vijayawada), 55 in Guntur, 44 in Prakasam (Ongole), 31 in Nellore, 50 in Srikakulam, 106 in Visakhapatnam, 34 in Vizianagaram, 70 in East Godavari (Kakinada), 54 in West Godavari (Eluru), 53 in Chittoor (Tirupati), 33 in Kadapa, 60 in Anantapur and 82 in Kurnool.
