Congress MLA from Sangareddy T. Jagga Reddy continued to play and hide and seek with the reports of his joining the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) without totally committing whether he was defecting from the Congress or not.
At an informal interaction with reporters here, he said he was not defecting from Congress party because of his family members but admitted that he joined the Congress from TRS on the invitation of the late Chief Minister Y.S. Rajashekar Reddy for development of the constituency.
“Mr. Rajashekar Reddy agreed to establish the granted IIT-Hyderabad in my constituency when I joined the Congress and it helped the backward Medak district to develop,” he said in an informal interaction with the reporters here.
He said his only focus on development of his constituency as they have showed faith in him. However, he ruled out joining the ruling party. “No one has invited me to join the ruling party so far,” he said.
Recalling his entry into politics as an organiser of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), he said he always worked for the party he was associated with. “My development agenda will bring not only benefit me politically but also the party I work for,” he said.
