HARIDWAR: A 30-year-old man committed suicide by hanging self in a hotel room on Wednesday. The man, identified as Noida-resident Sahil Chaudhary, was staying in a guest house under Kotwali police station jurisdiction.
No suicide note was found from the hotel room. However, police found out debt related documents from his possession which point towards a financial crisis as the reason behind his drastic step.
Sub-inspector Ajay Shah told TOI, “He reached Haridwar on Tuesday and booked a room in the guest house. On Wednesday, when he didn’t open the door even after repeated knocking, the guest house manager dialed us. We opened the door only to find out his body hanging from the ceiling fan.”
The victim’s parents were informed of the incident. Further probe is underway into the matter, the police official added.
