Passport mela

A passport mela will be held at Passport Seva Kendras in Coimbatore and the Post Office Passport Seva Kendras at Salem, Rasipuram, and Namakkal on May 4, according to a press release.

Residents of Coimbatore, Salem, Erode, Tiruppur, Namakkal, and the Nilgiris districts can take part.

Applications of Ordinary International Passport that is valid for 10 years under normal course will be accepted at the mela. Appointments to submit the applications can be made from April 30, 1.30 p.m. Applications registered online (www.passportindia.gov.in) that have obtained valid ARN can take appointments during the mela. Passports will be issued on the receipt of Police Clearance Certificate (PCC). Tatkaal, issue of PCC, and walk-in applications will not be accepted.

Walkathon on May 5

Bengaluru-based organisation U&I will conduct a walkathon here on May 5. The event, titled ‘Happy Feet’, is organised to create awareness on quality education to children, according to a press release. The organisation said a maximum of 400 people are expected to take part. The walkathon will be for 2.6 km, from Women’s Polytechnic College to VOC Grounds.
