The Delhi High Court came down heavily on the counterfeit manufacturer Amit Apparels in Ludhiana, Punjab which was operating a large factory producing fake apparels of well-known international brands including Under Armour, Jordan, and Lacoste. ETRetail has seen the copy of the judgment.
In January this year, Under Armour had filed a civil suit for injunction and damages of Rs 2 crore before the Delhi High Court against counterfeiting activities by Amit Apparels. Earlier, an FIR was registered against the said manufacturer in Ludhiana under FIR No. 308 of 2018 and large quantities of counterfeit goods including finished apparels, labels, and tags of major brands were recovered by the Ludhiana Police.
