One dead, six injured after canter hits bus in Fatehgarh Sahib

PATIALA: Six persons were injured and one lost his life if in an accident that took place on national highway on Wednesday in Fatehgarh Sahib.
The accident took place after the bus overtook the canter and then pulled the brakes to park it on a roadside in order to alight a passenger near Sirhind police station.
The injured have been identified as Harminder Singh of Ludhiana, Balwinder Singh of Jagraon, Baljit Singh of Firozepur, Lucky of Ludhiana and bus conductor Sunny who were immediately rushed to the hospital for treatment while the bus driver Sukhwinder Singh of Gurdaspur also sustained some injuries.
The canter driver Jarinder Kumar of Gurdaspur however lost his life in the accident. He was rushed to the nearby hospital along with the injured persons but was further referred to higher institute where he succumb to the injuries.
Meanwhile the police have registered a case under sections of IPC including negligence causing death and rash driving against the canter driver. The police said that further investigation into the matter is on
