Cops are yet to identify the partially
burnt body of a woman barely found 200-meters from the MDC police station. Cops conducted the last rites of the woman on Tuesday. However, high drama was witnessed at the IT Park police station after a man claimed to be the father of the woman.
Lallan Prakash, a resident of Indira Colony, Manimajra, along with his wife Prabha Devi went to the police station and claimed to be parents of the woman. They said that their 15-year-old daughter, identified as Gurpreet Prakash had gone missing on March 23.
Prakash said that his daughter had gone to a local tailor but did not return. A missing complaint was also given to the IT Park police station. Prakash alleged that their neighbour, Alladin, 25, is behind the crime.
"Alladin also went missing since the day our daughter is missing," Prakash said.
Cops took the DNA sample of Lallan and his wife to match it with the DNA sample of the deceased. The post-mortem was conducted in the civil hospital Sector 6 under the supervision of board of doctors.
The DNA and viscera samples were sent to Madhuban laboratory for further examination. SHO, MDC police station, inspector Vijay Kumar, said, "We are yet to ascertain how the woman was murdered or whether or not she was pregnant. These details will be confirmed only after the post-mortem report."
However, Lallan came into shock later in the day after his daughter Gurpreet visited the police station after getting the news that her parents have been looking for her. SHO Lakhbir Singh, IT Park police station, confirmed the development and said, "The girl after getting the news from some of her acquaintances visited the police station late at night. Her parents came into shock to see their daughter alive and after identifying her and after the complete verification, the girl's statement was recorded. The investigation is under progress and girl will be handed over to her parents after complete verification."
However, days after cops are yet to arrest the accused in the case where a half-burnt
body of a woman was found at MDC in the early hours of Saturday. All senior officials of
Panchkula police reached the spot and started the investigation after registering a murder case at MDC police station.
While checking the CCTV footage, cops found that a black Alto car was seen going towards the empty plot at around 1 am where the incident took place. On Monday, the investigation team traced out the car and called its owner for questioning.
ACP Noopur Bishnoi, said, "We are investigating the case and the accused will soon be nabbed."
