Trains delayed due to OHC fault near Jolarpet

The snapping of an Overhead cable (OHC) led to a delay of trains at Jolarpet railway station on Tuesday. Railway sources said a tree branch feel on the OHC near Jolarpet.

Senior technicians from Salem and Jolarpet reached the spot and rectified the fault. The Palani Express (Chennai Central-Palakkad), the Cheran Express (Chennai-Coimbatore), the Chennai- Tiruvananthapuram Mail, the Chennai-Alappuzha Express and the Jammu-Tawi-Kanyakumari Express were halted at various destinations enroute to Jolarpet.

The trains suffered a delay of 45 minutes to two hours. Services resumed Tuesday after clearance from experts.
