EC rejects former BSF jawan Tej Bahadur Yadav’s nomination as SP candidate from Varanasi

The Election Commission has rejected nomination of former BSF jawan Tej Bahadur Yadav’s nomination on Wednesday. Yadav was contesting election against Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Samajwadi Party’s ticket. Yadav claimed that the returning officer is acting on the behest of the state government and accused the BJP, saying that it was “dictatorial step.” Yadav said that he has furnished all documents sought by the returning officer. “We will approach the Supreme Court,” he said. The former BSF jawan had posted a video complaining about poor food in his camp.
