The Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals, two teams who have already secured a playoff spot, will compete in Match 50 of VIVO IPL 2019.
DC's fast-bowler Kagiso Rabada will be aiming to set an Indian Premier League (IPL) record at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Wednesday.
South African pacer Rabada has 25 wickets to his name. He is leading the race for Purple cap with Rajasthan Royals spinner Shreyas Gopal at the second place with 18.
Rabada is currently locked with Morne Morkel (25) in the list of highest wicket-taker for DC in a single season. Morkel had achieved the record in the 2012 edition and Rabada is certain to surpass this mark.
With just a wicket against CSK, he will surpass Morkel and become the highest wicket-taker for DC.
Ahead of the clash against CSK, DC’ mentor Sourav Ganguly has also heaped praise on Rabada and his team for becoming making it to the playoffs.
“I think everybody has played well, that’s why you get there. Shikhar (Dhawan) has been outstanding. Rishabh Pant whenever he has got away from Delhi on good pitches, hard pitches where there is carry, he has been exceptional with the bat,” Ganguly told reporters.
“Shreyas Iyer has been exceptional as a young captain and taken the responsibility and taken the team forward. He has been brilliant with the bat under pressure. Axar Patel, Rabada have been superb," he added.
