Vadodara: Even as the Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) finished the work to clean the Nimeta water filtration plant, the civic body drew flak in the general board meeting held on Wednesday evening. Members of the elected wing demanded action against those responsible for the state of affairs.
The eastern and southern parts of the city were getting dirty water since early April and the VMC could only watch helplessly. BJP MLAs including minister of state for Narmada and urban housing Yogesh Patel also took up the issue and called a meeting of the top brass of the VMC to discuss the problem. The civic body eventually began a major initiative to clean and repair the filtration plant that treats water from the Ajwa reservoir before it is supplied to the city.
