Villagers face threat from polluted environment in Jharkhand’s Hazaribagh

The villagers in Jharkhand’s Hazaribagh are exposed to extremely polluted environment in the vicinity of mining areas. Villagers said that they are contracting diseases because of toxic gases in the environment. Speaking to ANI one of the villagers said, “We aren’t even able to breathe properly. We are experiencing these problems ever since mining began 2-3 years ago. We can’t sleep properly.” The alarming situation is caused by huge amount of dust and toxic gases. Anguished people further said that coal laden trucks pass through villages are causing severe amount of pollution.
