HSV Unveils SportsCat RS Limited Edition Model, Yours For 63,990 AUD

Australia’s HSV (Holden Special Vehicles) has just unveiled a new truck, which is a limited edition model that will wear the ‘RS’ moniker.

The SportsCat RS is available only in Summit White and features a special value package that adds sporty design enhancements such as a gloss black grille, gloss black lower fascia and inserts, gloss black splash trey, red and black decals and a distinctive red and black HSV logo, among others.

Also available, and quite prominent, is the bonnet bulge, while the wheel arch fender flares keep watch over the 18-inch 6-spoke alloy wheels, wrapped in Cooper Zeon LTZ Pro Sports All-Terrain tires.

Other mods include the hard tonneau with load-rail provision and quick-release mechanism, the rugged sports-bar and the tailgate applique.

Meanwhile, the cabin features premium SV Sports bucket seats in Jasmine leather and Windsor suede, a trim combo that you can also find on the instrument panel. Then there’s the twin-needle red stitching on the steering wheel, door trims and center console cover, while the branded floor mats round off the truck’s interior styling.

All show and some go

The SportsCat RS also comes with the HSV Sports Suspension, a unique ESC and MTV damper tune, widened wheel track and increased front ride height, to go with its AP Racing brake package (4-piston forged calipers in front and 362 mm x 32 mm rotors) – available as a factory option.

Power comes from a 2.8-liter 4-cylinder DOHC Duramax Turbo Diesel unit, good for 147 kW (200 PS / 197 HP) and 500 Nm (368 lb-ft) of torque, with everything running through a 6-speed automatic transmission.

As for safety, there are seven airbags, forward collision alert, lane departure warning, trailer sway control, front and rear parking assist and a rear-view camera.

HSV is set to commence production this month, with pricing set at $63,990. The SportsCat RS will be limited to 100 units overall, 94 of which allocated to Australia and 6 to New Zealand.
