Officials ID kidnapping suspect, occupant killed in high-speed I-39 crash

Police have released the names of the two people who died in a columbia county crash yesterday.

They have also confirmed that one of them was suspected of battery and forcibly taking a woman in schofield.

Jamie perez has more details on what we've learned today.

We've just learned within the last hour, that the man suspected of kidnapping was also wanted by fitchburg police for armed robbery of an apartment home back in march.

The doj has also just released the names of the two men involved in yesterday's crash.

Ter-rance phillit simmons born in 1995 and terrance p simmons born in 1994.

Both have extensive criminal histories.

Police say the younger man was suspected of beating and taking a woman-- believed to be his girlfriend-- on sunday.

She was later found at an undisclosed location and were able to get information to locate the suspect.

They also found out that he was armed with a loaded gun.

They were able to locate his car in columbia county yesterday morning with the help of multiple law enforcement agencies.

The suspects led police on a high-speed cha but eventually crashed into a semi-trailer.

Both of the men died in the car died from the impact.

The investigation is ongoing.
