Rajasthan police to file charge sheet against BJP lawmaker Kirodi Lal Meena in 7 cases

The cases against BJP’s Rajya Sabha MP Kirodi Lal Meena pertain to loss to public property and voluntarily causing hurt.

The crime branch of Rajasthan police has found charges in seven cases against Meena community leader Kirodi Lal Meena to be true and has asked the district superintendent of various district police to proceed with filing the charge sheet.

The cases pertain to loss to public property and voluntarily causing hurt. Meena is BJP’s Rajya Sabha member of Parliament (MP).

Additional director general of police (ADGP), crime, Bhagwan Lal Soni said, “The crime branch has found charges against Kirodi Lal Meena to be true in seven cases. We have directed the concerned SPs to proceed with further action.”

Reacting to the development, Kirodi Lal Meena said, “The action has been taken due to political enmity. All these cases were lodged while fighting for benefits of poor people, farmers and Dalits. My fight will continue for the poor. None of the case in which charges have been found is personal.”

The crime branch has found charges true in a case against Meena and his supporters lodged in 2012 at government railway police (GRP) station in Bandikui who were alleged to have pelted stones at a train and hurting people.

Similarly, a case was registered against Meena at GRP Alwar police station in 2010 where he, along with his supporters, were booked for throwing stones at a passenger train in which crime branch has found the allegations true.

In 2009, a case was lodged against Meena in Thanagazi police station of Alwar district in which charges have been found true. The Meena leader and his supporters were alleged of creating ruckus in Thanagazi police station. Similarly, in 2012, a case against Meena and his supporters was registered for creating ruckus, in which allegations have been found true.

A case of firing was registered against Meena and colleagues in 2008 in Nadoti police station of Karauli district in which allegations have been found true.

One case each of unlawful assembly in the year 2008 was registered at Manpura police station of Dausa district and Chauth Ka Barwada police station of Sawai Madhopur district in which allegations have been found true.

A senior official of crime branch who requested anonymity said, “Most of the cases in which the allegations were found true were 147(rioting), 149 (unlawful assembly), 336(act endangering life) and 117 (abetting commission of offence by the public) of Indian Penal Code.”
