Driver of MSRTC bus carrying EVMs held for negligent driving

A of the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) has been arrested for recklessly driving a bus that was transporting EVMs to in the district, police said on Wednesday.

The driver, (38), was found driving the bus under the influence of liquor on Monday night, after polling for the Palghar Lok Sabha seat got over, police said.

"After the polls, the was assigned the task of transporting the EVMs and other in an MSRTC bus to the counting centre at from Mokhada in Palghar," said.

A police jeep was following the bus, he said.

"The police personnel observed that he was driving the bus in a rash and negligent manner. They asked the to stop the bus and found that he was drunk," Katkar said.
