The challenges WCC faces while standing by members who fight issues are tremendous, but Anjali Menon says the team is better prepared for them now. “A common question that has been coming our way for the past two years is whether industry sidelines us being WCC members. A strong female network within the industry can help us grow and tackle such situations. Craft enrichment sessions will have workshops in various skills, imparted to those like assistant directors. “It will give them insight on specific aspects like continuity,” Anjali says, adding, “Mentorship sessions will be handled by experienced movie professionals for aspiring young members of WCC. Like a research guide, they will do a gentle handholding. It will also have internship projects and shadowing sessions, in which they get to observe an actor or director on a film set, to learn from them.” The ‘Work-in-progress’ programme offers a platform of consultation for those who need support during filmmaking. Industry support segment aims at helping with a database to source technicians and references,” Anjali explains.
