City police commissioner Mahesh Chandra Laddha has suspended MVP Police Station Inspector S Sanyasi Naidu, for his alleged harassment of a woman, who had come to lodge a complaint.

Mr Laddha has taken the decision on Monday based on inquiry conducted by Assistant Commissioner of Police (Dwaraka Zone) Y.V. Naidu and Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP-1) M. Ravindranath Babu.

Call recordings

It was learnt that the CI had spoken in a derogatory way to the woman in a phone conversation.

Basing on the call recordings, action has been taken.

On Monday morning, woman organisations including Mahila Chethana and a few others protested against the officer at the police station.
