Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal, To motivate voters for maximum voting in the forthcoming Lok Sabha Elections 2019, “Let’s Paint for Democracy” was organized on the Boat Club, Van Vihar Road in the capital city on Sunday, where renowned painters, children and citizens of the city conveyed various types of messages through their paintings on canvas paper for maximum voting.
Nearly 230 painters in the city made painting on 1757 sq.ft. long canvas to make voters aware for vote. It was part of an event Matdan Ke Sang Canvas Ke Rang held at Boat Club on Friday. It was the first such initiative for voter awareness in Bhopal.
The participants including artist Raj Saini, cartoonist Hariom Tiwari, Shripal Mishra, Anjali Sarita, Harikant Dubey and other took part in the event. Besides, a painting competition was also held in which 250 students participated. Aakriti Maheshwari, Gaurangi Sharma and Aditi Jain secured the first, second and third positions respectively. Diksha Jadon, Harsh Singh, Ankit Dhurve, Priya Jain and Gauri Saluja got consolation prizes.
The event was jointly organized by district election officer and commissioner, Bhopal Municipal Corporation. On this occasion, District Election Officer Dr Sudam Khade with Municipal Commissioner Vijay Dutta, ADM and CEO District Panchayat Satish Kumar S have broadcasted a recorded audio and also felicitated those people with certificates who have been motivating the voters for maximum voting.
On this occasion, Additional Commissioner of the Corporation Kamal Solanki, Mr. Rajesh Rathod, Everest winner Bhagwan Singh Kushwah and senior painter Venu Garg were also present including 150 other painters. During this Children of different age have also painted on canvas under “Let’s Paint for Democracy”. District Election Officer Dr. Khade has also drawn an ideal polling station in his painting.
