Hit105 enjoys ratings resurgence across timeslots as rivals slip
Hit105 has drastically closed the gap on rival stations Triple M and Nova 106.9 at the top of the Brisbane radio ratings for the breakfast, drive and overall weekday timeslots.
Triple M has retained top spot in the overall weekday ratings and Nova 106.9 is still the most popular for breakfast and drive, but Hit105 is hot on their heels in all three periods.
According to the April listener survey, Triple M has 12.6 per cent of market share from 5.30am to midnight.
Nova, which was equal top with Triple M in the March survey, has slipped to joint second, on 12.4 per cent, sharing the position was Hit105, which surged from 10.8 last month.
97.3FM has held on to third spot with the same market share as previously, but ABC Brisbane has jumped from sixth to fourth by gaining 1.1 percentage points.
Meanwhile, 4KQ dropped from 8.7 per cent market share in March to 7.4 this month and 4BC jumped from 5.5 per cent to 6.2, but was still in seventh spot.
In the breakfast battle, Nova's Ash, Kip, Luttsy & Susie took the cake again despite dropping 0.5 percentage points; Hit105's Stav, Abby & Matt surged from 11.2 to 12 per cent, leapfrogging Triple M's The Big Breakfast with Marto, Robin and Nick Cody into second.
The market share for ABC Brisbane's Craig Zonca and Loretta Ryan did not change significantly, but they went up to fourth because 4KQ's Laurel, Gary & Mark nose-dived from 10.5 per cent to 8.2 in the April survey and slid into sixth behind 97.3FM's Bianca, Mike & Bob.
4BC's The Alan Jones Breakfast Show climbed into seventh place after increasing its market share by 1.2 percentage points, at the expense of 4JJJ, which lost 0.5 percentage points.
Jones and colleague Ray Hadley increased their audience shares despite off-air controversies.

Hit105's Hughesy & Kate and Carrie & Tommy, who share the timeslot, surged from 11.6 to 14.2 per cent to take second spot, while Triple M's Kennedy Molloy dropped 0.8 percentage points into third.
97.3FM's Will & Woody held on to fourth despite slipping from 10.4 to 9.4 per cent market share.
Meanwhile, 4KQ's Paul Kennedy slumped from 6.5 per cent to 4.9 per cent, but ABC Brisbane's Steve Austin leapt from 4.3 per cent in March to 6.5 in the April ratings.
