Well, if we follow the reports, it might appear like Thailand does not even need promotion for tourism as it is already registering a record number of tourist footfall. In actuality, few sites like Bangkok and Phuket, are drawing more than 30 million tourists each year. As a result, the Thai Government will be introducing this effort of paying people to visit other areas of the country to encourage people to visit them.

According to the recent news reports, for this campaign, Thailand has kept aside a budget of 15 million bhat (around INR 3 crore). Information of the way one can take part in this initiation will be released later this year. However, the catch related to this campaign is that only Thai citizens aged 18 years or above can participate in this. Participants will be getting a grant of 1500 bhat (INR 3215), which they can spend in any of the 55 cities that are listed in the campaign.

An official in the know-how said that the Thai government is all set to introduce this ground-breaking campaign before July 2019. As per the campaign, the government will put down the amount into the account of the participant through e-payment system, which they are expected to use during the trip and make cashless purchases.
