Probing into a recent chain-snatching case, the police have arrested a duo allegedly involved in regular chain-snatching to fund their drug addiction.

The duo had allegedly snatched a chain from a woman, Suman, in Chandra Layout on April 23. The arrested have been identified as Mohammed Mudasir, 20, and Mohammed Rizwan, 20, residents of Bapujinagar.

The duo would allegedly steal bikes and using them would snatch gold chains from women travelling alone.

The police have recovered ₹4.5 lakh worth of 133g of gold jewellery.
