Ford And Lincoln Connected Services Enable “Clever” Amazon Delivery

Ford is teaming up with Amazon to bring the latter’s Key by Amazon In-Car delivery service to eligible Ford and Lincoln vehicles, allowing users to have their Amazon Prime packages delivered directly to their vehicles.

It’s a great way to ensure that your packages will never again be vulnerable to bad weather while sitting on your porch or front steps, or go missing for whatever reason.

All you need in order to benefit from this new service is a 2017MY or newer Ford equipped with FordPass Connect, or a MY2018 Lincoln or newer with Lincoln Connect.

First, you need to download the FordPass or Lincoln Way app, create an account and activate your car for in-car delivery. Then, the Amazon Key app will link your Amazon Prime account with your FordPass or Lincoln Way account and you’re good to go. In the meantime, you’ll also receive notifications throughout the delivery process, including a head’s up before delivery and a confirmation that your delivery is completed and that your car has been locked securely – something the delivery driver will also verify before moving on to his next delivery.

If for whatever reason you change your mind regarding the package, you can block delivery by denying access to your car – which should add further peace of mind.

Additional services also possible

Aside from Key by Amazon, users will also be able to utilize FordPass and Lincoln Way to purchase on-demand eco-friendly car wash services from Spiffy, Rub A Dub and Sparkl wherever these services are available. So instead of taking time out of your day and driving over to a car wash, you can get one of these companies to come straight to your car and clean it inside/out.

Spiffy for example is finalizing the launch of their Ford and Lincoln connected vehicle services in Atlanta, Charlotte, Dallas, LA and Raleigh. Sparkl on the other hand has recently launched their on-demand car washing service in the Chicago metro area, while Rub A Dub will launch later this year.
