Americans want to get away this summer, but when it comes to international trips, they aren’t going far.????Just south of the border or to enjoy being on island time.????The most popular international destinations this summer are in Mexico and the Caribbean.????Take it from a new survey by Allianz Global Assistance.????Coming in at numero uno, Cancun, securing the top spot for the third straight year.????Aruba, San Jose del Cabo, the Bahamas and the Dominican Republic round out the top 5.????Before we go any further, it’s time to point out the obvious.????Allianz included San Juan, Puerto Rico on the “international” survey list, but it’s part of the U.S.????Jamaica, Turks and Caicos, Puerto Vallarta, Mexico and the Cayman Islands make up the rest of the list.????Allianz reps say it’s the first time all 10 international destinations were in the Caribbean or Mexico.????It’s also the first year that London and Paris weren’t in the top 10, according to Travel + Leisure.????But for the folks without a passport, the top 5 summer spots Americans are planning to travel include Orlando, Florida, New York City, Seattle, Las Vegas and Boston.????Allianz based the rankings on trips planned from the end of May through the beginning of September.????If you’re lucky enough to be going on a beachy summer vacation, make sure to snap a pic drinking out of a coconut to make the rest of us super jealous!
