Mercury hovers above 40 deg Celsius in 10 places of Odisha

The entire Tuesday continued to reel under sizzling heat with level hovering above 40 degree in at least 10 places, the here said.

Sonepur recorded 42.4 degree Celcius to become the hottest place in the state on Tuesday, followed by 41.7 degree at Talcher and 41.6 degree C at Jharsuguda.

The other seven places where the temperature is above 40 degree are Sambalpur (41.6), Malkangiri, Titlagarh and Bhawanipatna (41.5 each), Hiurakud and Bolangir (41 each) and Angul (40.7), the weatherman said.

In Sundergarh, the temperature was 40 degreee Celsius.

The maximum temperature in state capital Bhubaneswar was 38.4 degree Celsius, while the touched 37.8 degree Celsius in neighbouring Cuttack city.
