Though Cyclone Fani is expected to intensify into a very severe storm by Tuesday, the State may not receive much rain from it.
However, some areas in Bengaluru may receive light rain, bringing a brief respite from the heat.
Officials in the India Meteorological Department told The Hindu that except for scattered rain in parts of south-interior Karnataka and light rain in isolated places in Bengaluru, the cyclone will not have much effect in the State.
The official stated that the present weather condition — pre-monsoon weather — was normal.
On Monday, the maximum temperature in Bengaluru was 34 degrees Celsius, which is a 1-degree departure from the normal temperature, while the minimum temperature was 24 degree Celsius, 2 degrees Celsius higher than normal.
On Tuesday, partly cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain has been forecast.
