With Rajya Sabha MP Shamsher Singh Dullo’s son Bandeep Singh ‘Bunny’ Dullo filing nomination as Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate from the Fatehgarh Sahib Lok Sabha seat on Monday, the Congress asked Dullo to resign.

Bandeep, a Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) secretary, replaced his mother and former MLA Harbans Kaur Dullo as AAP candidate from the seat after joining the party on Sunday. Earlier, the party had given ticket to Baljinder Singh Chudhan but replaced him with Harbans Kaur after she joined AAP on April 16.

Punjab Congress campaign committee chairman Lal Singh said, “I have demanded Dullo’s resignation from the Congress as well as the Rajya Sabha.”

“He is a blot on the Congress and his exit will benefit the party.

He has no place in the party after his wife and son joined AAP. Also, he is declaring openly that he will not campaign for the Congress,” he added.

Lal Singh said the party lost the 2007 polls due to Dullo as he openly abused a particular community. “Despite this, the party nominated him as a Rajya Sabha member,he added.
