NASCAR officials confiscated the rear deck lid of Dillon's car Friday at Talladega and took it back to their research and development center in Concord, N.C. for closer inspection.

In a penalty report issued Tuesday, NASCAR said the team violated Sections 20.4 Body; 20.4.11 Deck Lid; 20.20 of the rule book. "Deck lid must be used as supplied from the manufacturer. Body Filler added to deck lid," it read.

The result is a $25,000 fine for crew chief Danny Stockman Jr. and a one-race suspension for car chief Gregory Ebert. Dillon and team have also been docked ten driver and owner points.

Dillon won the pole for the race and ultimately finished 14th.
