KOLKATA: A 17-year-old boy was severely injured after falling from the roof of a four-storey building in
Bhowanipore where he attended tuition on Monday.
According to police, Rohit Shaw is among the Class-XII students who attend classes at Adhyan, a coaching centre at 17B, Rupchand Mukherjee Lane. On Monday, after the classes got over around 7pm, Shaw was chatting with friends on the roof of the building. His friends told police that Shaw, who was sitting on the railings, lost his balance and fell.
On hearing Shaw
fall, students and teachers in the building rushed down to join Shaw’s friends and found the 17-year-old lying in a pool of blood in the adjacent complex.
“We heard a thud and then there was a commotion. We rushed down and found Shaw lying semi-conscious. He was taken to the hospital by friends and some people who manage the coaching centre,” said a
student.
Prima facie, cops have found no foul play, but are probing the incident. Shaw, a resident of 14/4 Turf Road, has been attending classes here for months now.
