Chennai Metro Rail restores Central-Airport train service

CHENNAI: Direct metro train service between Central and Airport, which was suspended in the morning, was restored at 1.30pm.
In a release, Chennai Metro Rail Limited has said that all metro train services were being operated as per schedule.
CMRL suspended direct train services in the morning, a day after its permanent staff members staged a protest to reinstate eight workers who were terminated on various grounds.

Following the protest, services were disrupted on Monday evening after workers downed the signal systems.
On Tuesday, CMRL workers staged a protest in front of labour commissioner's office, where talks were underway over the termination of eight metro rail employees.
