The logo of ‘I CAN’, an app being developed under the seed money project of the Cochin University of Science and Technology titled ‘Development of Gamified Health Care Solutions for Patients Suffering from Cancer’, was released here on Monday.
A, official release said the app was developed by Manu Melvin Joy, Assistant Professor at the Cusat’s School of Management Studies.
The logo was released jointly by V.P. Gangadharan, oncologist, and Sidharth Siva, award-winning film-maker and actor, by handing it over to Dr. Melvin Joy.
The seed money is being provided by the varsity to new faculty recruits for promoting research.
Dr. Gangadharan stated that an app to uplift the spirit of the cancer patients, who are going through the toughest phase of their lives, was the need of the hour.
Dr. Melvin Joy and Mr. Siva are cancer survivors, who received treatment under Dr. Gangadharan during 2004-06.
