Students of Lucknow district did not make much of an impact in the UP Board high and intermediate merit list, yet the city students put up an impressive overall performance .

Just two students from Lucknow out of top 14 made it to the merit list of UP Board intermediate examination. The district acquired the top slot with overall pass percentage of 89.29% .

Likewise, no city student made it to the high school merit list (top 21) but excelled in the district wise category bagging third place with overall pass percentage of 91.26%.

District-wise results revealed in intermediate examination, the state capital registered highest pass percentage of 89.29 per cent followed by Shamli and Ghaziabad districts on second and third spot with 88.78 per cent and 87.23 per cent respectively. The districts on the bottom three rungs are: Chandauli (68.79%), Sonbhadra (67.97%) and Mirzapur (67.74%). The overall high school pass percentage was 80.07%.

The districts among the bottom three are: Deoria (52.27%), Chandauli (51.58%) and Hathras (48.62%). The overall high school pass percentage was 70.06%.

In high school examination, Muzaffarnagar district registered the highest pass percentage of 91.80 per cent followed by Shamli district registering 91.42 per cent for second spot and state capital Lucknow bagging third place with 91.26 per cent results.

The districts among the bottom three are: Chandauli (68.79%), Sonbhadra (67.97%) and Mirzapur (67.74%). The overall high school pass percentage was 80.07%.

Girls once again outshone boys in both the examinations, achieving a pass percentage of 83.98 per cent vis-à-vis 76.66 per cent attained by boys in high school examination and a pass percentage of 76.46 percent in inter compared to 64.40 percent achieved by boys.

This year, the pass percentage of UP Board high school examinees increased while that of intermediate declined a little. The overall pass percentage for high school was 80.07%, an increase by 4.91% over last year’s 75.16%. The pass percentage for intermediate exams was 70.06%, a decline of 2.37% against last year’s 72.43%.
