Snatchers target 75-yr-old on morning walk in Sec 44

CHANDIGARH: Two men on a motorcycle snatched a gold chain from a 75-year-old woman in Sector 44 in broad daylight on Saturday in a crime caught on CCTV camera..
Darshan Kaur, a resident of Sector 44, was taking a stroll with the help of a cane around 7.25am. When she reached close to her house, the two accused stopped their bike near her. One of them got down, walked up to Kaur and snatched her chain. Both fled before she could seek help.
Police obtained the CCTV footage from near the crime scene. Footage showed the accused took a U-turn when they spotted her walking alone. Both the accused were wearing helmets.

Family members informed the police about the incident. Cops from Sector 34 police station reached the spot. Police searched for the accused but to no avail. Cops said the footage will help them in identifying the accused. Police registered a case and started probe.
On April 26, Amrit Kaur, a resident of Sector 42, said she had gone for a dinner at a restaurant with her friend. After their meal, they were about to sit in their car when the accused approached her from the rear and snatched her purse. She said her purse was worth Rs 30,000 and contained Rs 15,000 and an iPhone X.
