30-yr-old run over by train

Ludhiana: A 30-year-old man was run over by a superfast train near the Baddowal railway crossing late on Fiday night. Police could not ascertain the identity of the deceased as the body was badly crushed in the accident. Investigation officer Gurjinder Singh said a lineman deputed at the crossing informed the control room of the Government Railway Police (GRP), following by which a police team reached the spot and recovered the body. Prima facie it seems that the victim tried to cross the tracks from an unmanned crossing and got hit by the speeding train coming from Ferozepur station side. The GRP have initiated proceedings under Section 174 of CrPC.
