Police insist on mounting CCTVs

All hotels within the Ernakulam Rural Police limits have been asked to mount CCTVs and to maintain footage for up to three months.

This was one of the instructions given to the hospitality industry players at an awarness session organised at the Ernakulam Rural Police headquarters at Aluva on Saturday. Rahul R. Nair, Superintendent of Police, Ernakulam Rural, inaugurated the session, which was organised to educate hotel operators on the need to comply with security guidelines.

Hotels were also directed to maintain identity documents of clients and to ensure that the mobile numbers provided by them were not fake. The formalities in connection with the visit of foreign citizens should be strictly complied with. The police should be immediately alerted to suspicious activities.

Around 170 hotel operators participated in the meeting.
