Chanda cops thrash, tonsure drunkard, peel off skin on scalp

Chandrapur: A person was thrashed and forcibly tonsured by Pitiguda police at village Ambezhari of Manikgarh hillocks in Jiwti tehsil late on Saturday night. The man, who also lost a lot of skin on the scalp, was allegedly drunk and creating a ruckus.
Pitiguda PSO API Anil Aadande with other cops allegedly thrashed Devidas Kandalwar (35) and shaved his head with a sharp instrument, even peeling off some skin of his scalp.
Sources said Kandalwar is a drunkard and had created some ruckus in the village under influence of liquor on Saturday night. The village police patil informed Pitiguda police station. PSO Aadande with three cops came to the village around midnight and barged into Kandalwar’s house.
The cops dragged Kandalwar out of his house and thrashed him brutally in the front yard. Cops then forced Kandalwar on the ground and tonsured him with some sharp weapon, even as his family member watched in horror.
Kandalwar’s wife tried to save him but she too was allegedly thrashed. The PSO and cops tonsured Kandalwars head so barbarically that they peeled off a lot of skin from his scalp with the hair. He was then put into the police vehicle and taken to Pitiguda police station.
When cops realized he was bleeding profusely, they checked the wounds closely and found most of the skin on his scalp was missing. The shocked cops then rushed the victim to Gadchandur rural hospital and admitted him there in the wee hours of Sunday.
The family members of Kandalwar came to know about his critical condition on Sunday morning. Doctors also informed Gadchandur police about the patient, following with local cops and SDPO Gadchandur, one Yamawar, took a statement of the victim and his wife. Villagers have demanded action against Pitiguda PSO and others cops for their barbaric act.
