City police on Saturday nabbed a gang involved in smuggling of ganja and conducting matka and arrested eight persons.

The One Town police recovered ₹3.37 lakh cash, three cell phones and 500 gram of ganja from them.

Anantapur Deputy Superintendent of Police P.N. Babu told reporters at the police station that those arrested were identified as Gopa Bhaskar, 35, Dakali Chalapathi, 53, Burujula Ramanjaneyulu, 42, Nayakar Sivaji Rao, 65, Sake Guruprasad, 29, Kothinti Ramachandra, 56, Akula Subbaiah, 75, and Shaik Chand Basha, 28.
