UP board results: Girls trump boys in Noida, Ghaziabad

Noida/Ghaziabad: The UP board exam and intermediate results were declared on Saturday. While Kriti Mishra of MDV Inter College in Ghaziabad’s Govindpuram emerged the district topper in intermediate exams, scoring 85.5%, Dinesh Kumar of Kisan Adarsh high school in Bamheta scored the highest marks in his Class X boards with 91.33%.
Kriti, who is the daughter of a car mechanic, dreams of becoming a teacher in the future. “I am very happy with the results but would have been much happier had I scored more,” said Kriti Mishra. Rahul, who is from Chaudhary Charan Singh Inter College in Modinagar’s Patla, came second in Ghaziabad district in Class XII, scoring 85% marks.
Ghaziabad’s Class X topper Dinesh, the son of a farmer, too has similar aspirations as Kriti. “I came from Badaun district along with my father only to attain better education and I am surprised that I am the district topper,” said Dinesh.
A total of 20,796 students appeared for the Class XII UP board exams in Ghaziabad district, with girls outnumbering boys. Out of 10,476 girls, 9,843 passed while out of 10,320 boys, only 8,298 passed. “The pass percentage of girls in intermediate exams is 93.96%,” said Pankaj Pandey, district inspector of schools.
However, none of the students from the district could make it to the top ten list in the state.
In Gautam Budh Nagar too, girls performed better than boys in both Class X and XII exams.
While Anjali Parmar from Shanti Devi Kanya Inter College in Rabupura became the district topper in Class XII with 83.8% marks, there was a tie for Class X UP board topper. Two students — Ramandeep from Indo Public School and Nishant Kumar from Devi Gyandeep Inter College bagged the top position with 90.33% marks.

The second position in Class XII exam was bagged by Mansi from Janta Inter College with 82.9%. In Class X, Raj Gautam from Devi Gyandeep Inter College Rabhupura scored 89.93%.
In total, 14,656 students appeared in Class XII UP board exams from the district. Of them, 5,670 boys and 6,124 girls passed the exam. Similarly, a total of 19,323 students appeared for the Class X UP board exams, out of which 9,9098 boys and 8,498 girls passed.
