Hubballi: Don't neglect security measures at churches, mosques, temples, malls and commercial establishments, said DCP law and order D L Nagesh.
Addressing a meeting of religious heads and commercial establishments here on Saturday, Nagesh appealed to all to initiate every security measure to avoid untoward incidents. The meeting was held in the wake of the recent bomb attacks in Sri Lanka. “Everyone should consider the incident seriously and if any suspicious person is found they must inform police. People entering your premises must be checked at the entrance itself,” he added.

“Every religious centre and commercial establishment should try to deploy two security personnel at entrance to keep a close watch on people who enter. Metal detectors and luggage scanners must also be installed so that such incidents are avoided,” he said.
Anil Bomareddy, ACP North, said that if required police are ready to train private security personnel hired by any institution. “We can train them about how explosives can be detected and what precautions need to be taken in a one-day special workshop and training session,” he said. Religious heads from various churches, mosques, temples and others shared their opinion and stressed upon installation of CCTV cameras and increased police patrolling.
