PIMPRI CHINCHWAD: The civic authorities have turned their attention to illegal constructions being done by owners of small plots, measuring 1-5 gunthas, in the red zone of the fringe areas such as Wadmukhwadi, Bhosari, Moshi and Dighi. Pimpri Chinchwad municipal commissioner Shravan Hardikar has issued orders to the town-planning department in this regard.
The state urban development department had issued a notification in 2016, allowing for the regularization of illegal constructions till December 2015.
However, illegal constructions in the buffer zone, red zone, inside the blue lines of rivers and on hill slopes would not be regularized, under the notification, a civic official said, adding that this applied to the illegal constructions in question.
