SHOWS: PARIS, FRANCE (APRIL 27, 2019) (FORMULA E OPERATIONS LTD - SEE RESTRICTIONS) 1.

DIGITAL FRIENDLY HIGHLIGHTS OF PARIS E-PRIX WON BY ROBIN FRIJNS STORY: Formula E saw its eighth winner in eight races in a chaotic Paris E-Prix on Saturday (April 27) when Dutch driver Robin Frijns came through a crash-heavy race to claim first place.

Nissan's Sebastien Buemi took an early lead after his team mate Oliver Rowland crashed out in the opening laps having been on poll.

But Buemi could not hold off the Virgin Racing driver Frijns, who overtook a few laps later and held onto first place despite tough weather conditions and a challenge from Andre Lotterer.

There were a number of crashes in the race, with the likes of Sam Bird and Felipe Massa all hitting barriers or spinning.

Mahindra Racing driver Jerome D'Ambrosio had an overall Formula E lead going into the race but was forced to start at the back of the grid due to a tyre pressure infringement.

D'Ambrosio made up 13 places until he hit the Turn 3 wall and fell all the way to 17th.

The 27-year-old Frijns, who started third on the grid, was the first winner from the Netherlands in the five-season history of Formula E.

He was joined on the podium by Germans Andre Lotterer, for DS Techeetah, and Daniel Abt for Audi.

Frijns now has 81 points to Lotterer's 80, with five rounds remaining.
